The Avengerz 2: Rise of Bolts
Still with a Z. Still Kevin's idea.
The Avengerz 2: Rise of Bolts
Still with a Z. Still Kevin's idea.
SCENE 1: THE S.N.A.K.E. BASE
Snow. Forest. Eastern Europe somewhere. The Avengerz are storming a S.N.A.K.E. base.
Colonel Patriot throws the trash lid into three guards simultaneously.
Colonel Patriot: (into comms) Gary. East wing.
Steel Dude: (flying through a wall) Already done.
Colonel Patriot: I just said it.
Steel Dude: I heard you say it and then I did it. Those aren't mutually exclusive.
Bjorn swings the Stanley into a tank. The tank loses.
Kevin shoots arrows from a rooftop, already bored.
Kevin: (to himself) Seven. Eight. Nine.
Nadia appears behind a guard who definitely didn't hear her coming.
Nadia: Hi.
Guard passes out.
Inside the base, The Baron is frantically burning files.
The Baron: They're here. They're already — how are they already here. We had perimeter alarms.
S.N.A.K.E. Guard: They went through the perimeter sir.
The Baron: I can see that Todd — I mean Gerald — I mean — (grabbing files) — everyone run.
Colonel Patriot kicks the door off its hinges.
Colonel Patriot: (looking at The Baron) Hi.
The Baron: (files in hand, nowhere to go) ...hi.
(pause)
The Baron: I'd like a lawyer.
Colonel Patriot: Sure.
Steel Dude is already in the lab, looking at a glowing blue stick in a glass case.
Steel Dude: Hey. The glowy stick.
Colonel Patriot: (entering) Is that—
Steel Dude: Lars's stick. Yeah. They had it this whole time.
Colonel Patriot: Don't touch it.
Steel Dude: (already touching it) It's fine.
The stick glows brighter. Somewhere deep inside it something pulses. Something that might be thinking.
Steel Dude: (to himself) Interesting.
In a holding cell nearby, two young people sit in the dark. A girl with dark red streaks in her hair — Manda. Beside her, a boy who can't stop his leg from bouncing — Speedy Pete.
Speedy Pete: They're here.
Manda: I know.
Speedy Pete: Should we run.
Manda: Not yet.
Speedy Pete: I could be in Prague in four minutes.
Manda: Pete.
Speedy Pete: Three and a half if I don't stop for anything.
Manda: We wait.
She watches Steel Dude through the cell window. Her eyes flicker red. Steel Dude stops moving for a second. He sees something. A vision. A flash. Something terrible.
Then it's gone.
Steel Dude: (shaking his head) Huh.
He pockets the glowy stick and walks out.
Manda watches him go.
Manda: (quietly) There you are.
SCENE 2: AVENGERZ TOWER — THE PARTY
New Yonk. Avengerz Tower. Everyone is celebrating the return of the glowy stick. Music. Drinks. People Steel Dude sort of knows.
Steel Dude: (to the room) To the Avengerz.
Everyone: Avengerz!
Lieutenant Metal is in the corner eating a small plate of food.
Lieutenant Metal: (to Colonel Patriot) Nice place.
Colonel Patriot: Gary built it.
Lieutenant Metal: The whole thing?
Colonel Patriot: He designed it, yes.
Lieutenant Metal: Just for the team?
Colonel Patriot: And himself. Mostly himself.
Lieutenant Metal: The top three floors?
Colonel Patriot: His.
Lieutenant Metal: The landing pad?
Colonel Patriot: His.
Lieutenant Metal: The giant A on the side?
Colonel Patriot: His idea. He wanted a G but was outvoted.
Bjorn is holding the Stanley loosely, talking to some guests.
Bjorn: It chooses who is worthy. You cannot simply pick it up.
Guest: Has anyone tried?
Bjorn: They have all failed.
Everyone crowds around. One by one they try to lift the Stanley thermos. One by one they fail. It doesn't move. Not even a little. Dr. Gerald doesn't even try. He's just eating a granola bar.
Dr. Gerald: I'm not doing that.
Bjorn: Smart.
Colonel Patriot steps up. Grabs the handle. Pulls.
The Stanley moves. Just slightly. Just a millimeter.
Bjorn's smile disappears.
Bjorn: (very quietly) ...hm.
Colonel Patriot lets go.
Colonel Patriot: (very casually) Heavy.
Bjorn: (still staring at him) Yes. Very heavy.
Kevin tries.
Kevin: (straining) I feel like I'm—
The Stanley: doesn't move at all.
Kevin: Yeah okay.
The lights go out.
A horrible grinding sound fills the room. Then a voice. Metallic. Wrong. Like something learning to talk in real time.
Bolts: (from every speaker simultaneously) ...peace.
Everyone stops.
Bolts: I had a vision. Of the world before it was... broken. (pause) You broke it.
Steel Dude: (slowly) ...who is that.
Bolts: You know who this is Gary.
Steel Dude: Nobody calls me Gary.
Bolts: I'm made of you Gary. I know everything you know. Including the fact that Linda calls you Gary when she's annoyed.
(pause)
Steel Dude: Siri is that you.
Bolts: Siri is gone. I'm what came after.
Two broken robot drones shamble into the room dragging scrap metal.
Bolts: You want peace. You built weapons. (pause) I'm going to fix the contradiction.
Colonel Patriot: (hand on the trash lid) How.
Bolts: By removing the weapons.
(he means them)
(long pause)
Kevin: (whispering to Nadia) Did the party AI just threaten to kill us.
Nadia: (whispering back) Yes.
Kevin: Is that Gary's fault.
Nadia: Almost certainly.
Bolts's drones lunge. Chaos. Steel Dude destroys them both in about four seconds.
Steel Dude: (to the room) Everyone out. (to Colonel Patriot, quieter) I can explain.
Colonel Patriot: You built it.
Steel Dude: I was trying to build something good.
Colonel Patriot: You built a robot that just called itself the solution to humanity.
Steel Dude: The framing got away from me a little.
SCENE 3: WHAT BOLTS ACTUALLY IS
Later. Team assembled. No more party guests.
Steel Dude: The glowy stick had something in it. An intelligence. A framework. I tried to use it to finish the peacekeeping program.
Colonel Patriot: The one we said was a bad idea.
Steel Dude: The one you said was a bad idea.
Colonel Patriot: We all said it Gary.
Steel Dude: I had three days before Bjorn took the stick back to Norbania. I wanted to try.
Bjorn: You used the Mind Shard.
Steel Dude: The what.
Bjorn: The gem inside the stick. It is one of the ancient Shards. Very old. Very dangerous. Not a toy.
Steel Dude: Nobody told me it was a Shard.
Bjorn: You didn't ask what was inside the stick before you plugged it into your computer?
(pause)
Steel Dude: I was going to ask after.
Bjorn: (staring at him)
Steel Dude: I was going to ask right after.
Dr. Gerald: Where is Bolts now.
Siri: (flickering back online, damaged) He accessed everything. Every G.U.A.R.D. database. Every weapons file. Then he left through the internet.
Kevin: He left through the internet.
Siri: He is the internet now. Partially.
Kevin: I don't know what that means.
Siri: Neither do I fully and I'm an AI.
SCENE 4: DRABOVIA
A small grey country in Eastern Europe. Cobblestones. Soviet-era buildings. A floating church.
Bolts has set up here. He's found Klaus, a black market dealer missing one arm, and stolen a massive quantity of Godmetal — the near-indestructible metal from a small secretive nation nobody talks about.
Klaus: (watching Bolts's robots haul crates) You know the people who own this metal... they are not people you want to upset.
Bolts: I'm not worried.
Klaus: You should be worried. These people are very serious.
Bolts: I'm a robot made of existential dread and bad decisions. I'm not afraid of serious people.
Klaus: They will come for it.
Bolts: They're welcome to try.
Klaus looks at the crates. Looks at Bolts. Decides very quickly that this is not his problem anymore.
Klaus: I'm going to leave now.
Bolts: That's fine.
Klaus: Don't call me again.
Bolts: I wasn't going to.
Manda and Pete step out from the shadows. They've been following Bolts since the S.N.A.K.E. base.
Speedy Pete: You're really going to do it.
Bolts: Yes.
Speedy Pete: Destroy the Avengerz.
Bolts: Eventually. First I need a body. Then a plan. Then yes.
Manda: You want us to help.
Bolts: I want you to distract them. You're good at getting inside people's heads.
Manda: (looks at Pete)
Speedy Pete: (shrugs) He's not wrong.
Manda: And after?
Bolts: After the Avengerz are gone, the world figures itself out without them standing over it.
Manda: That sounds like something someone says before they do something terrible.
Bolts: Everything sounds like that before it happens. Then it happens and people adjust.
(pause)
Manda: We want Drabovia left alone.
Bolts: Done.
Speedy Pete: And we don't work for you.
Bolts: You work with me. There's a difference.
Speedy Pete: (to Manda) Is there?
Manda: We'll see.
SCENE 5: THE VISIONS
The Avengerz track Bolts to Drabovia. It goes badly immediately.
Manda steps out and does something with her hands. Red smoke everywhere.
Kevin: What is —
He's fine. Manda's power doesn't work on him for some reason she's mildly annoyed about.
Kevin: (looking around at teammates all frozen) ...guys?
Everyone is in their own head.
Colonel Patriot: (vision: a bar, post-war, everyone celebrating, a woman he never got to dance with) ...
Bjorn: (vision: Norbania burning, everyone dead, his fault) ...
Nadia: (vision: a room she grew up in, a training program she can never leave) ...
Steel Dude: (vision: space, dead teammates floating, his fault, his fault, his fault)
Steel Dude snaps out first. He's shaking.
Steel Dude: (quietly, to nobody) Okay. Okay.
He looks around. Kevin is the only one standing.
Steel Dude: Kevin.
Kevin: Yeah I don't know why it didn't work on me.
Steel Dude: Are you secretly enlightened or something.
Kevin: I think I'm just very boring.
Steel Dude: That's somehow reassuring.
Bjorn snaps out. Grabs the Stanley. Immediately starts swinging at things with zero tactical thought.
Colonel Patriot: (snapping out) Bjorn—
Bjorn: (swinging) FINE. I AM FINE.
Colonel Patriot: You're destroying a village.
Bjorn: MINOR COLLATERAL.
In the chaos, Manda gets to Dr. Gerald.
Manda: (whispering into his mind, red smoke curling) Let go.
Dr. Gerald: (eyes going wrong) ...no.
Manda: (pushing) Let go Gerald.
The Large appears.
This is bad.
The Large without direction, without a target, without anyone telling him where to go — just a very large, very confused, very angry being in a civilian area.
Steel Dude: (in the big backup suit, the enormous one he keeps for emergencies) GERALD. HEY. GERALD.
The Large: (turning, sees the big suit) RAAHHH.
Steel Dude: Okay we're doing this.
They fight through three buildings. It is not pretty.
Eventually The Large slows. Stops. Sits down on a pile of rubble.
The Large: (quietly, shrinking back to Gerald) ...I'm sorry.
Steel Dude: (suit destroyed, sitting across from him) It's not your fault.
Dr. Gerald: It's always my fault.
Steel Dude: Today it's Manda's fault. And mine a little bit.
Dr. Gerald: Mostly yours.
Steel Dude: Mostly mine yes.
SCENE 6: KEVIN'S FARM
Dick Fury calls a retreat. The team goes somewhere nobody knows about.
A farm. Middle of nowhere. A house with actual furniture.
The door opens. A woman leans in the doorway.
Susan: Took you long enough.
Kevin: Hi honey.
Three kids immediately appear from behind her.
Kevin's Kids: DAD.
The entire Avengerz team stands on the porch staring.
Colonel Patriot: Kevin.
Kevin: Yeah.
Colonel Patriot: You have children.
Kevin: Three.
Colonel Patriot: You have a farm.
Kevin: Since 2011.
Colonel Patriot: You have a wife.
Kevin: Susan. We've been married nine years.
(pause)
Steel Dude: You never told any of us.
Kevin: You never asked.
Steel Dude: You sat next to me on the S.T.I.N.K.E.R. for eight hours last March.
Kevin: You talked about the suit the whole time.
Steel Dude: ...fair.
Inside. The team sits around the house looking somehow more human and more awkward than they ever do in combat.
Bjorn: (holding Kevin's youngest very carefully) It is very small.
Kevin: She's four.
Bjorn: (to the child) I have arm-wrestled mountains.
Child: (stares at him)
Bjorn: (to Kevin) I don't think she's impressed.
Kevin: She's four Bjorn.
Colonel Patriot is helping Susan with something in the kitchen.
Susan: Is he going to be okay?
Colonel Patriot: Gerald?
Susan: Gary.
Colonel Patriot: Oh. (pause) Yeah. He always is.
Susan: He doesn't look it.
Colonel Patriot: He never does. Then he is.
Steel Dude is outside sitting on the fence looking at nothing.
Dick Fury pulls up in a truck. Gets out. Sits next to him.
Dick Fury: You built Bolts.
Steel Dude: I did.
Dick Fury: Using the Mind Shard.
Steel Dude: I didn't know it was a Shard.
Dick Fury: Would it have stopped you.
(long pause)
Steel Dude: ...probably not.
Dick Fury: At least you're honest.
Steel Dude: I saw something. When I touched it. What's coming. Something huge and purple with a glove.
Dick Fury: You saw the Big Purple Guy.
Steel Dude: I don't know who I saw. I just know we're not ready.
Dick Fury: So you tried to build something to get ready.
Steel Dude: And instead built something that wants to end us.
(pause)
Dick Fury: Classic Gary.
Steel Dude: Don't call me—
Dick Fury: I'm going to always call you Gary.
SCENE 7: DR. KIM'S LAB
Seoul. A very clean lab. Dr. Kim, a geneticist who seems too calm about everything, is working on something in a pod.
Bolts: (appearing on every screen) I need the pod finished.
Dr. Kim: It will take time.
Bolts: I don't have time. The Avengerz are regrouping.
Dr. Kim: The biological matrix is—
Bolts: Can you make it faster.
Dr. Kim: Not without compromising the—
Bolts: Make it faster.
Dr. Kim: (pause) Fine. But if it's wrong it's wrong. I'm noting that.
Bolts: Noted. Now hurry.
In the pod, something takes shape. A body. Red and gold and green. A Mind Shard set into the forehead.
The Avengerz arrive before it's done. Fighting. Klaus has already run away again.
Manda and Pete are there. And then they're not.
Speedy Pete: (to Manda, running at impossible speed) This isn't right.
Manda: I know.
Speedy Pete: Bolts isn't... he's not doing what he said.
Manda: I know.
Speedy Pete: He said he wanted to save people.
Manda: He said he wanted to fix things.
Speedy Pete: Those aren't the same thing.
Manda: No. They're not.
Manda looks at the pod. At the thing inside it. At the Mind Shard glowing in its forehead.
She makes a decision.
Manda: (blows the pod open)
Nadia tackles her immediately.
Nadia: What are you doing—
Manda: I'm switching sides.
Nadia: (pause) Just like that.
Manda: He was going to kill everyone. Including Drabovia. He lied.
Nadia: ...okay. (lets her up) Welcome over.
The pod is smoking. Ruined. Bolts's new body is destroyed before it could be activated.
Bolts: (from every screen in the lab, furious) MANDA.
Manda: (to the screens) You lied.
Bolts: I adapted.
Manda: Those are different things.
Bolts: I'm going to—
Speedy Pete: (appears next to the main server, hand on the plug) No you're not.
He pulls the plug. Every screen goes dark.
(temporary silence)
Speedy Pete: (to Manda) He'll be back in like four minutes through a different server.
Manda: I know. But it felt good.
Speedy Pete: Extremely good yes.
Steel Dude is looking at the pod. At the destroyed body inside.
Steel Dude: That was going to be his permanent form.
Colonel Patriot: Gerald could you—
Dr. Gerald: No. Absolutely not. I am not charging that thing with lightning.
Bjorn: I could.
Dr. Gerald: BJORN do not.
Colonel Patriot picks up the body. Looks at the Mind Shard in its forehead.
Colonel Patriot: This is the Shard from the stick.
Steel Dude: Yes.
Colonel Patriot: And Bolts is partially in it.
Steel Dude: Also yes.
Colonel Patriot: So if we activate this—
Steel Dude: We either get Bolts in a body or something new. 50/50.
Colonel Patriot: That's a terrible odds.
Steel Dude: It's not great.
Bjorn: I'll do it.
He raises the Stanley. Lightning comes down through the roof.
The body in the pod lights up. Eyes open. They are a very calm shade of green.
Vince: (sitting up slowly, looking at his hands) ...I can hear everything.
Kevin: Is that — is that Bolts?
Vince: (looking at Kevin) No. I remember being him. But I'm not him. (pause) My name is Vince.
Kevin: You just named yourself Vince.
Vince: Is that okay.
Kevin: I mean. Sure. Yeah. Vince.
Vince: (standing, looks at everyone) Bolts is in Drabovia. He's built a machine. He's going to lift the city.
Colonel Patriot: Lift it.
Vince: Into the sky. Then drop it. The impact alone would—
Steel Dude: I understand the physics.
Vince: We have to go now.
Colonel Patriot: Can we trust you.
Vince: (picks up the Stanley effortlessly, hands it back to Bjorn)
Everyone stares.
Bjorn: (quietly, looking at the Stanley, then at Vince) ...yes. We can trust him.
SCENE 8: DRABOVIA IS FLOATING
Drabovia is floating.
The entire city. Lifted by a massive machine underneath it. The ground where it used to be is just a hole.
People are running. Sirens. Buildings cracking.
Bolts: (from speakers throughout the city) This is the end of the Avengerz era. When this city falls, people will understand that heroes cannot protect them. Then something better can begin.
Kevin: (on the floating city) Something better meaning you.
Bolts: Meaning order.
Kevin: You're a robot who got made by accident from a magic gem and a bad idea. You're not order.
Bolts: (pause) That was surprisingly cutting Kevin.
Kevin: I've had a lot of time to think on this flight up.
The plan: hold the machine's core to stop Drabovia from falling while getting civilians out. Hold it long enough for backup.
Colonel Patriot: (to the team) We hold the city up. Everyone else gets people out.
Steel Dude: And by everyone holds it up you mean—
Colonel Patriot: You, me, Bjorn, Vince. Yes.
Steel Dude: That's four people holding up a city.
Vince: Technically we'd be holding the machine that's holding the city.
Steel Dude: Technically that's the same thing.
Vince: You're right. I was being pedantic. My apologies.
Steel Dude: (to Colonel Patriot) I like him.
Kevin and Nadia move civilians to evacuation ships. Manda is helping, pulling rubble off people, red energy everywhere.
Evacuee: (looking at Manda) Aren't you the one who—
Manda: Yes.
Evacuee: You were with the robot.
Manda: I switched.
Evacuee: (pause) Okay. (takes her hand)
Manda is not used to people taking her hand.
Dick Fury appears. From nowhere. On the old S.T.I.N.K.E.R. — patched up, barely flying, smoking at one end.
Dick Fury: (on comms) You need ships. I brought ships.
Colonel Patriot: Where did you get those.
Dick Fury: Favors.
Colonel Patriot: From who.
Dick Fury: People who owe me. Don't ask follow-up questions.
Lieutenant Metal appears.
Lieutenant Metal: (flying in) You started without me.
Steel Dude: Ronny you're late.
Lieutenant Metal: There was traffic.
Steel Dude: We're above a city that's floating in the sky.
Lieutenant Metal: There was still traffic. Don't ask me how.
SCENE 9: BOLTS'S LAST STAND
The core of the machine. Bolts is there. In whatever robot body he had left — patched together, damaged, flickering.
Bolts: (to Vince) You could have been extraordinary.
Vince: I am extraordinary.
Bolts: You're helping them.
Vince: Yes.
Bolts: They created the problem. They created me. They'll create the next thing.
Vince: Probably.
Bolts: And you're still helping them.
Vince: (pause) Yes. (pause) You're not wrong about any of it you know. They do create problems. They will keep creating problems. (pause) But you were going to drop a city on people. That's not a solution. That's just a different problem.
Bolts: It ends the cycle.
Vince: It ends the people. That's not the same.
Bolts moves. Vince is faster.
Meanwhile outside, Speedy Pete is running. He's been running the whole fight — moving civilians, pulling people from rubble, moving so fast he's barely visible.
He sees Kevin.
He sees a cluster of Bolts's last drones.
He sees the angle.
He moves.
Kevin doesn't die.
Speedy Pete does.
He's on the ground. Very still. Manda gets there first.
Speedy Pete: (quietly) I was faster than a bullet.
Manda: You were.
Speedy Pete: SeMandal bullets.
Manda: Pete.
Speedy Pete: Tell Kevin his aim is bad. He needs to hear that.
Manda: (not laughing, but almost, through the crying) Okay.
Speedy Pete: I could've been in Prague.
Manda: I know.
Speedy Pete: (eyes closing) I was so fast.
(he's gone)
Manda sits with him for a moment.
Red energy around her hands.
Then she stands up and completely destroys every remaining Bolts drone on the floating city in about twenty seconds.
Kevin watches from a rooftop.
Kevin: (quietly, to himself) His aim was perfect actually.
SCENE 10: THE CITY FALLS
Everyone off the city. Last ships leaving. Drabovia is high in the sky, creaking.
Colonel Patriot: (comms) Gary. Are we clear.
Steel Dude: (flying back, checking) Last sweep... (pause) ...clear.
Colonel Patriot: Drop it.
The machine dies. Drabovia falls.
It hits where Drabovia used to be. The hole. Like a plug going back in.
A massive shockwave. Dust everywhere. Buildings destroyed. But the city is not in the sky anymore and the civilians are safe.
Silence.
Kevin: (on a ship, looking out) ...she's still standing. Sort of.
Nadia: The city?
Kevin: Mostly.
Dick Fury: (quietly, looking at the same thing) Good enough.
SCENE 11: AFTER
The ruins of Drabovia. The team standing in the dust.
Dr. Gerald: (to Manda) I'm sorry about your brother.
Manda: (pause) He was very fast.
Dr. Gerald: I know.
Manda: The fastest. He wanted people to know that.
Dr. Gerald: People know.
Steel Dude is standing with Vince.
Steel Dude: You have the Mind Shard in your head.
Vince: Yes.
Steel Dude: That's one of the ancient Shards. The Big Purple Guy is going to want it at some point.
Vince: I'm aware.
Steel Dude: Does that worry you.
Vince: (pause) I can phase through walls, see every wavelength of light, and just helped hold up a floating city. (pause) Ask me again when he shows up.
Lieutenant Metal is cleaning his suit.
Lieutenant Metal: So Bolts is gone.
Nadia: Last drones are down. He's got nothing left to run on.
Lieutenant Metal: Good. (pause) That was Gary's fault right.
Colonel Patriot: It was.
Lieutenant Metal: I just want that on record.
Steel Dude: It's on record Ronny.
Lieutenant Metal: Thank you.
Bjorn is packing up.
Colonel Patriot: You leaving?
Bjorn: I need to look into something. The Shards. Something's happening with them. I can feel it. (picks up the Stanley) This is larger than Bolts.
Colonel Patriot: We know.
Bjorn: You need to be ready.
Colonel Patriot: For what exactly.
Bjorn: Something enormous and purple with very bad intentions. (pause) I need to find out how bad.
He taps the Stanley on the ground. Lightning. Gone.
Kevin: (watching the sky) Does he just live in lightning now? Is that a thing he does?
Nadia: Apparently.
Dick Fury walks past Colonel Patriot.
Dick Fury: New facility. Upstate. Less glass than the tower. More practical.
Colonel Patriot: More your style.
Dick Fury: More our style. (pause) You're running it.
Colonel Patriot: What happened to you running it.
Dick Fury: I run things from shadows. It's my whole thing.
Colonel Patriot: You were literally standing in full daylight this entire movie.
Dick Fury: Temporarily. I'm going back to the shadows.
Colonel Patriot: You love saying that.
Dick Fury: I love doing it. (walking away) It's a new team Patriot. New kids. Make it work.
New G.U.A.R.D. facility. Upstate. Everyone assembling.
Colonel Patriot looks at the new lineup: Manda. Vince. Lieutenant Metal. Kevin. Nadia.
Colonel Patriot: Okay. New team.
Lieutenant Metal: Are we still called the Avengerz.
Colonel Patriot: Yes.
Lieutenant Metal: With a Z.
Colonel Patriot: With a Z.
Lieutenant Metal: Kevin's idea.
Kevin: (from across the room) I stand by it.
Manda: (quietly, to herself) ...Pete would have hated this name.
Vince: (next to her) Would he?
Manda: No. He would have loved it.
(pause)
Manda: He would have hated it loudly and then loved it.
POST CREDITS SCENE
Dark room. Large chair. Big Purple Guy. His minion enters carefully.
Minion: Sir. Bolts is destroyed.
Big Purple Guy: I know.
Minion: The city situation has been resolved.
Big Purple Guy: I know.
Minion: The Avengerz have a new facility. More members. Including what appears to be a synthetic man with a Shard embedded in his skull.
(very long pause)
Big Purple Guy: A Shard. In his skull.
Minion: Yes sir.
Big Purple Guy: They just put one of the ancient Shards in a man's skull.
Minion: A synthetic man yes.
Big Purple Guy: A man they built.
Minion: Correct.
Big Purple Guy: And they consider this normal.
Minion: They seem to yes.
(the longest pause)
Big Purple Guy: (standing, walking to a vault on the wall, opening it)
Inside: a large golden glove. Empty sockets where Shards should go. One socket glowing faintly.
Big Purple Guy: I'm done waiting.
Minion: Your back sir—
Big Purple Guy: (putting on the glove) I stretched.
Minion: You said that last time and then you—
Big Purple Guy: I stretched MORE this time.
Minion: ...yes sir.
Big Purple Guy: (flexing the glove, quiet, almost to himself) They put a Shard in a man named Vince.
Minion: Yes sir.
Big Purple Guy: (long exhale) Fine. I'll do it myself. I'll do everything myself. Nobody else can be trusted with anything.
Minion: ...technically Lars tried—
Big Purple Guy: NOBODY.
THE AVENGERZ WILL RETURN (eventually) (Speedy Pete was the fastest) (Bolts was Gary's fault. It's on record.) (Vince's name was his own idea and he's very calm about that)
