Page 1 – Panel 1:
Early morning light filters through the curtains. Evan sits at the kitchen table. His parents across from him. Silence.
Caption:
“The hardest part isn’t the truth. It’s the silence that comes after.”
Page 2 – Panel 1:
Thomas stares into his coffee. Margaret hasn’t touched hers. Evan looks down, guilt etched into every line of his face.
Margaret (quietly):
“All this time... aliens, battles, powers... and we had no idea.”
Page 3 – Panel 1:
Margaret’s voice cracks slightly. Her eyes brim with tears.
Margaret:
“We raised you. We watched you grow. And now... I feel like I never even knew you.”
Evan (softly):
“You did. You do. But I had to keep it from you. For your safety.”
Page 4 – Panel 1:
Thomas leans forward, his voice gentle but heavy.
Thomas:
“We always knew you were different. But we thought it was just... growing up. Teen stuff. Not... all this.”
Page 5 – Panel 1:
Margaret reaches across the table and takes Evan’s hand.
Margaret:
“I’m scared, Evan. But I’m proud of you. Even if you’re not... human the way we thought, you’re still our son.”
Evan (choked):
“I never wanted you to find out like this. I’m sorry.”
Page 6 – Panel 1:
The moment is tender but interrupted by a vibrating buzz. Evan checks his communicator: it's Lena.
Page 7 – Panel 1:
Split panel: Lena's face on the screen, urgent but smiling slightly.
Lena:
“We found something. That beast we fought — the tech we pulled from its body finally responded. You’ll want to see this.”
Lena (continuing):
“Also... Phantomark and Mirage woke up. They’re asking for you.”
Page 8 – Panel 1:
Evan looks up at his parents. They already know. They nod slowly.
Thomas (quiet but firm):
“Go save the world, son.”
Page 9 – Panel 1:
Evan stands, hugs both of them tightly. Margaret holds on a little longer, like she’s afraid to let go.
Margaret (tearfully):
“Come back to us, Evan. No matter what happens.”
Page 10 – Panel 1:
Evan flies through the front door. Outside, the city is just waking up. But the weight on his shoulders is always there.
Page 11 – Panel 1:
Inside the house again. Margaret finally breaks down, crying into Thomas’s chest. He holds her tightly, eyes glassy but strong.
Thomas (whispering):
“He’s still our boy. Just with more sky in his veins than we ever imagined.”
Page 12 – Panel 1:
Cut to: high-security government facility. Evan walks past armored guards and scanning gates. SAs nod at him in respect.
Caption:
“Back to the other life. The life I didn’t ask for... but chose anyway.”
Page 13 – Panel 1:
Doors hiss open. Inside a sleek medical bay, Phantomark and Mirage lie in recovery pods. Lights pulse gently. Lena and Mindquake stand nearby.
Lena (softly):
“They’re weak, but they’re awake.”
Page 14 – Panel 1:
Evan walks up. Mirage sits up slowly, bruised but alive. Phantomark smirks weakly through his bandages.
Mirage (smiling faintly):
“Miss us?”
Evan (relieved):
“Like hell.”
Page 15 – Panel 1:
Phantomark gives a ghost of his usual mischievous grin.
Phantomark:
“Didn’t get yourself killed while we were out, huh?”
Evan:
“Close. But I figured you’d be pissed if I did.”
Page 16 – Panel 1:
The room is filled with quiet smiles. The team is coming back together again — slowly but surely.
Lena (serious now):
“But that thing we fought — the beast... it wasn’t just sent. It was tracking us. The signal we decoded? It’s a lock-on frequency. Zykor knows where we are.”
Page 17 – Panel 1:
Everyone’s expression tightens. The gravity settles in again.
Evan (quietly):
“Then we don’t wait for him to come to us.”
Page 18 – Full-page panel:
Evan stands in front of the glowing screen, his reflection surrounded by the team. Their faces are tired, but determined. War is coming.
Evan (caption):
“It’s time to stop running. Time to bring the fight home.”
