Page 1 – Panel 1:
Evan walks down the dark hallway of the base. The sound of his footsteps echoes eerily in the silence. His brow furrows as something feels off.
Page 1 – Panel 2:
He calls out, his voice breaking the stillness.
Evan (yelling):
“Hello? Is anyone here?”
Page 1 – Panel 3:
Distorted, garbled voices begin to creep from the shadows— Jason’s voice, Lena’s voice, Phantomark’s voice, all mixed together and unnerving.*
Distorted Voices (whispering):
“Evan… we’re here…”
Page 1 – Panel 4:
Evan turns sharply toward the source of the voices. He sees his teammates approaching, but something about their faces—frozen in twisted, unnatural smiles—feels completely wrong.
Page 2 – Panel 1:
Evan takes a cautious step back.
Evan:
“Guys… what’s… wrong with you?”
Page 2 – Panel 2:
They don’t answer. They just keep walking toward him, eyes glowing unnaturally.
Teammates (in unison, distorted):
“Nothing’s wrong…”
Page 2 – Panel 3:
Evan stumbles backward, trying to escape. He turns sharply—
Page 2 – Panel 4:
Captain Hawke stands in front of him, but his face is just as unsettling. A grotesque, unnatural smile stretches across his face.
Captain Hawke:
“Evan... join us.”
Page 2 – Panel 5:
Evan backs into a corner, desperate. The others approach, their faces becoming more and more warped.
Evan (screaming):
“NO! WHAT’S HAPPENING?!”
Page 3 – Full-page splash:
Evan's scream echoes through the base, but suddenly— he wakes up. His eyes snap open, breath ragged, heart pounding.*
Page 4 – Panel 1:
Evan lies in his bed, drenched in sweat, panting heavily. His room is quiet and normal, but he’s shaken.
Evan (thinking):
“It was just a dream… just a dream.”
Page 4 – Panel 2:
He slowly sits up, rubbing his face, and sighs. His alarm clock flashes 7:30 AM.
Page 5 – Panel 1:
Cut to Dr. Vaen at her workstation in the lab, typing and analyzing bioorganisms on the computer screen. Evan walks in, stretching his arms.
Evan:
“Hey, Doc. Where’s the team?”
Page 5 – Panel 2:
Dr. Vaen turns in surprise, adjusting her glasses.
Dr. Vaen:
“Oh! You’re back. Captain’s in his office. The others are at that pizzeria downtown.”
Page 5 – Panel 3:
Evan nods, flying toward the window as he gives a casual wave.
Evan:
“Thanks.”
Page 6 – Panel 1:
Evan hovers outside the pizzeria, landing gently in a nearby bush, ensuring no one sees him. He adjusts his clothes and walks casually toward the door.
Page 6 – Panel 2:
Inside the pizzeria, the team greets him with loud cheers and fist bumps as he walks in.
Jason:
“About time, man! We were starting without you!”
Page 6 – Panel 3:
The team is seated around a large booth. Drinks are placed in front of them. Everyone is relaxed, chatting.
Page 7 – Panel 1:
Evan:
“Anything interesting happen yesterday when I had the day off?”
Page 7 – Panel 2:
Voltfist shrugs, sipping his drink.
Voltfist:
“You’d have to ask Lena or someone. I didn’t do much.”
Page 7 – Panel 3:
Evan (looking at Lena):
“Lena, anything weird happen?”
Page 7 – Panel 4:
Lena looks up thoughtfully as she takes a sip of her soda.
Lena:
“Actually, yeah. Some mysterious guy popped up asking for a gemstone. Said it could let him travel through time and dimensions.”
Page 7 – Panel 5:
Evan’s eyes widen slightly, intrigued.
Evan:
“Dimension Hopper?”
Page 7 – Panel 6:
Lena nods, tapping her finger on the table.
Lena:
“That’s what I think he was called. He’s after a gemstone that can mess with timelines.”
Page 8 – Panel 1:
Phantomark (chiming in):
“Do you think these new villains, like Tsunamo and Copycat, could have come from regular people who got corrupted by these kinds of powers?”
Page 8 – Panel 2:
The group goes quiet for a moment, pondering the idea.
Jason:
“Possibly. Some of them seem like they could’ve been ordinary. And then... boom. Power corrupts.”
Page 8 – Panel 3:
Evan thinks for a moment, nodding slowly.
Page 8 – Panel 4:
Evan:
“Could be. It makes you wonder what we’ve missed, though.”
Page 8 – Panel 5:
Jason suddenly grins mischievously.
Jason:
“By the way, Evan... Are you going to prom tonight?”
Page 9 – Panel 1:
Evan freezes, suddenly realizing he’d forgotten. His face turns slightly red.
Evan:
“Oh—uh… I’ll go. Unless something crazy happens between now and then.”
Page 9 – Panel 2:
Jason laughs.
Jason:
“You better! I already set up Leila to go with you!”
Page 9 – Panel 3:
Evan looks at Jason, now full-blown embarrassed.
Evan (frantically):
“Wait, you did what?! Jason, you shouldn’t have! What if—”
Page 9 – Panel 4:
Jason laughs harder, teasing Evan.
Jason:
“No ‘what ifs,’ man. You’re going with her!”
Page 9 – Panel 5:
Evan, now gaining some confidence, leans in.
Evan (smirking):
“Well, maybe you should be more concerned with you and Lena. All that cuddling up on the mountain, huh?”
Page 10 – Panel 1:
Jason gets defensive, face flushed.
Jason:
“It was... it was for comfort. After Aegis, things were tough. You wouldn’t understand.”
Page 10 – Panel 2:
Evan sarcastically grins.
Evan (mocking):
“Aha, sure. Totally.”
Page 10 – Panel 3:
Lena, sitting next to them, groans in frustration.
Lena:
“Could you two just shut up? I’m trying to drink my juice here.”
Page 10 – Panel 4:
Evan teases her with a sly smile.
Evan:
“What’s wrong, Lena? Got secrets?”
Page 10 – Panel 5:
Jason turns toward Evan.
Jason:
“You should listen to her, Evan. After all, she’s way smarter than you.”
Page 11 – Panel 1:
The playful teasing spirals into a bigger fight as the group laughs, nudging each other. Then, out of nowhere—
Page 11 – Panel 2:
Mirage stands up, voice stern.
Mirage (yelling):
“Enough!”
Page 11 – Panel 3:
Everyone falls silent, stunned. Mindquake looks at Mirage, eyebrows raised in surprise.
Page 12 – Panel 1:
The tension lingers in the air for a long moment before the group awkwardly settles down, no one saying anything.
Page 12 – Panel 2:
A few minutes later, their pizza arrives. The group digs in, happily munching away.
Page 12 – Panel 3:
Voltfist eats the fastest, already halfway through his pizza while the others just stare at him.
Page 13 – Panel 1:
After finishing, they all pay the bill and walk out of the pizzeria.
Evan:
“Good pizza. We should definitely come back here sometime.”
Page 13 – Panel 2:
The group laughs, heading back toward the base. Phantomark grins.
Phantomark:
“It’s been a while since Zykor tried anything. Kinda miss him.”
Page 13 – Panel 3:
Everyone else laughs loudly.
Everyone (laughing):
“Go fuck yourself, dude.”
Page 14 – Panel 1:
Cut to Zykor’s lair. He watches the heroes through an Evan replica, his face hard and grim, eyes cold. His expression is unreadable, sinister in its silence.
Page 14 – Panel 2:
Zykor's fingers tighten around the edges of the monitor, the only hint of emotion being the tightening of his jaw.
Caption (narration):
“The game is far from over.”
