Page 1 - Panel 1:
We open with Evan lying in bed, the light of dawn creeping through his window. He’s been tossing and turning, but his rest is interrupted by the sound of his phone ringing. The screen lights up with a call from Captain Felix Hawke. Evan groggily picks up the phone, his voice thick with sleep.
Evan (groggily):
“Hello? Captain?”
Page 1 - Panel 2:
The camera switches to Captain Hawke, who’s speaking with urgency, his voice sharp and authoritative.
Captain Hawke:
“Evan, wake up. We’ve got a situation in Cairo, Egypt. There’s been another attack, another creature. Military forces are engaged, but it’s not enough. They’re calling this a ‘second alien assault in under a week.’ People are terrified, and we need you there—now.”
Page 2 - Panel 1:
Evan’s eyes widen as the gravity of the situation hits him. He jumps out of bed, his mind racing with the information. In the background, we can see the TV playing news coverage of the chaos in Cairo. People are fleeing, the military is trying to contain the situation, but it's clear they’re struggling.
News Anchor (on TV, voice loud):
“Breaking news from Cairo, where an alien creature has begun terrorizing the city. Despite heavy military firepower, the creature remains a formidable threat. The public is now in full panic as authorities scramble for answers. Is this the beginning of an invasion?”
Page 2 - Panel 2:
Evan grabs his jacket, quickly throwing it on as he speaks into the phone. His mind is focused now, the weight of responsibility pushing him forward.
Evan (determined):
“I’m on it, Captain. I’ll be there in minutes. They won’t see what’s coming.”
Page 3 - Panel 1:
Evan steps outside, his feet skimming the ground. He’s moving at incredible speed, a blur through the streets of the city as he launches himself into the air, breaking through the atmosphere with ease. His eyes are locked on Cairo, his focus entirely on the mission ahead.
Narration (Evan’s voice):
“I’ve never been this fast before. It’s like the world’s moving in slow motion when I fly. I don’t think about the wind or the cold. I just think about what’s in front of me—what needs to be stopped.”
Page 4 - Panel 1:
Cut to Cairo, where chaos has erupted. Military trucks are parked in the streets, soldiers are trying to regroup, and civilians are running for their lives. Smoke rises in the distance. But in the middle of the destruction, the monster Evan was supposed to fight... is already gone.
News Anchor (on TV):
“We’re getting reports that the creature has been neutralized... but by whom? The military reports no known casualties on their side, but no confirmation yet on who—or what—defeated the creature.”
Page 5 - Panel 1:
Evan lands with a heavy thud near the scene, his eyes scanning the area. He feels an unsettling sense of déjà vu—like he’s late to the party. The creature’s body is nowhere to be seen, but there are traces of its destruction—debris, scorch marks, and a faint energy signature in the air. He stands still, trying to understand what’s happened.
Evan (to himself):
“What... happened here? I was supposed to handle this.”
Page 5 - Panel 2:
As Evan moves through the wreckage, his eyes catch a figure standing in the distance, leaning against a shattered building. The figure is familiar: Lena—but not the Lena he remembers from before. Her stance is confident, calm, almost as if this were routine for her.
Evan (surprised, under his breath):
“Lena?”
Page 6 - Panel 1:
Lena turns to face him, a faint smile tugging at the corner of her lips. She doesn’t seem surprised to see him. She’s already cleaned up the mess that he was about to face.
Lena (coolly):
“You’re late. But it’s not your fault. You didn’t know.”
Evan (confused):
“Late? What are you—how did you—?”
Page 6 - Panel 2:
Lena gestures to the aftermath of the battle. The creature’s body is gone, but the impact of its destruction still lingers in the air. The military has pulled back, their weapons useless against the creature. But Lena... she’s unscathed, calm, and collected.
Lena (explaining):
“I was watching. When the first creature attacked, I didn’t think much of it. But when this second one showed up so soon after... I knew it wasn’t just a random incident.”
Page 7 - Panel 1:
Evan listens closely, his mind racing with the implications of what Lena’s saying. The same feeling he had about the first attack is gnawing at him again.
Evan:
“So, you came out of hiding... because you knew something was coming?”
Lena (nodding):
“Exactly. I’ve been tracking the pattern, and I think they’re preparing for something. If these creatures keep coming, then they’re being sent, not by random chance. They’re building up to something.”
Page 7 - Panel 2:
Evan watches as Lena walks over to the edge of the destruction, her hands folded behind her back as she looks down at the damage. There’s a weariness in her eyes that wasn’t there before.
Lena:
“I’ve been on my own this whole time, but after the second attack, I realized I couldn’t stay out of this. The government wanted to talk to me, just like they wanted to talk to you. They needed someone who knew more about this kind of threat... but I’m not going to be anyone’s pawn.”
Page 8 - Panel 1:
Evan stands still, processing everything Lena just told him. He knows what she means—the government saw him as a tool, too. But unlike her, he’s made a deal. He couldn’t just turn his back on them.
Evan (with a nod):
“I get it. They wanted me too, but I couldn’t ignore them. I made a deal. They’re helping keep my secret, but they need me. They need to be ready.”
Page 8 - Panel 2:
Lena turns to face him fully now, her expression softening slightly. There’s a small flicker of something—regret, maybe—but it quickly vanishes.
Lena (quietly):
“And that’s why I came to help. But I’m not working for anyone. This isn’t about science. It’s about survival.”
Page 9 - Panel 1:
Evan crosses his arms, the weight of his own decisions weighing heavily on him. The air around them crackles with the faint hum of energy, both alien and human in origin.
Evan:
“So, what’s next? What do we do now?”
Page 9 - Panel 2:
Lena’s expression hardens, her eyes narrowing slightly as she speaks. She’s not done yet. There’s more to this than just fighting monsters.
Lena:
“We wait. We watch. We gather whatever we can about what’s coming. And when the time comes, we hit back. Harder than before.”
Page 10 - Panel 1:
As they stand together in the wreckage of Cairo, the realization sets in for both of them. This is bigger than they thought. And no matter how powerful they are, they’re going to need each other to face what’s coming.
Narration (Evan’s voice):
“I always thought I could handle things alone. But Lena... she knows more than I do. Maybe together, we can figure out what’s really going on. And stop it before it’s too late.”
