ISSUE #8
Page 1 - Panel 1:
Opening shot: Evan’s parents sitting anxiously in their living room. The sun is starting to rise, casting a soft glow through the windows. It’s late, and they’ve been waiting for hours. The silence in the room is heavy with concern.
Page 1 - Panel 2:
The phone rings, breaking the silence. Evan’s dad, Thomas Holt, picks up the phone, his hands shaking slightly.
Thomas (on the phone):
“Hello?”
Page 1 - Panel 3:
Cut to Jason on the other end of the line, his voice frantic but trying to stay calm.
Jason (on the phone):
“Mr. Holt, you need to know. Leila said government agents... they took Evan. She doesn’t know why. They just dragged him away. No explanation.”
Page 1 - Panel 4:
Thomas’s face goes pale, and his expression shifts from confusion to absolute shock. He turns to his wife, Margaret, who is standing nearby.
Thomas (shaken):
“Margaret, we have to go. Now.”
Page 2 - Panel 1:
The scene cuts to Evan’s parents driving through the streets, heading to the government facility. The mood is tense, the headlights from their car cutting through the night. Margaret grips the seat, clearly nervous.
Margaret:
“Why didn’t they tell us anything, Thomas? Why would they just take him like that?”
Thomas:
“I don’t know, but we’re going to find out. They can’t just take our son and expect us to do nothing.”
Page 3 - Panel 1:
Cut to the government office. Thomas and Margaret Holt arrive, storming through the front door. They approach the receptionist, looking panicked and demanding answers.
Thomas:
“We need to speak to someone in charge. Where’s our son?”
Receptionist (calmly but firmly):
“I’m afraid I can’t give you any information at this time, sir. All cases regarding individuals taken in for questioning are classified.”
Page 3 - Panel 2:
Thomas’s face darkens with frustration, but the receptionist remains unmoved. Margaret looks at her husband, her worry deepening.
Thomas (to receptionist):
“You don’t understand. This is our son we’re talking about. You can’t just—”
Receptionist (interrupting):
“I’m sorry, sir, but I’m unable to provide any further information. Please understand, it’s out of my hands.”
Page 4 - Panel 1:
The scene shifts to a secret lab deep inside the government facility. Evan is in a metal chair, surrounded by agents and scientists, all eyes on him. The room is cold, clinical, and sterile. He’s being restrained, though not physically. The tension is palpable.
Captain Hawke (stepping forward, speaking coldly):
“You’ve put us in a very difficult position, Evan. We need answers. Now.”
Page 5 - Panel 1:
Cut to Dr. Kade, who steps forward, holding up a digital screen showing the DNA test results.
Dr. Kade (calmly):
“You’ve been tested. We know you were the one who took down that creature. That hole you punched through it? No normal human could do that.”
Page 5 - Panel 2:
Evan glares at her, refusing to break. He’s sweating, clearly mentally and emotionally exhausted, but still holding onto his secret.
Evan (stiffly):
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. I didn’t do anything.”
Captain Hawke (leaning in, voice steely):
“Stop lying. You did more than just punch through that thing. We need to know what you really are.”
Page 6 - Panel 1:
Cut to a close-up of Evan, his hands clenched, the strain of holding everything inside weighing down on him. His heart is racing as the agents press him harder.
Dr. Kade (insistent):
“We need to know about the creature. Why did it come here? What does it want? Tell us everything. We have the technology to make you talk.”
Page 6 - Panel 2:
Evan takes a deep breath, sweat beading on his forehead. His eyes are filled with a mixture of fear and anger. He knows that he’s about to have to say something that will change everything.
Evan (breathing hard):
“You won’t understand. I don’t even know what that thing was. I don’t know why it came here. But I can tell you this: I’m not like you. I’m not human.”
Page 7 - Panel 1:
The room goes silent as the agents stare at him. They exchange looks. This is not what they expected.
Agent Hawke (raising an eyebrow):
“Explain yourself.”
Evan (sighing, voice heavy):
“I’m from a place called Aethon. We... we have the ability to adapt to new environments. I look like a human because I’ve been on Earth for a long time. My body has adapted to the planet, and I age like one of you. But I’m not one of you. I’m not human.”
Page 7 - Panel 2:
Dr. Kade leans in, clearly trying to piece everything together. She’s not entirely convinced.
Dr. Kade (skeptical):
“You’re saying you’re an alien? But why are you here? Why did you stay on Earth?”
Evan (shaking his head):
“I don’t know. I was sent here a long time ago, and... over time, I lost track of why. I don’t know what that monster was, or what it wanted. I didn’t even know it was here until it attacked.”
Page 7 - Panel 3:
Cut to a brief flashback of Evan’s younger self standing alone on a foreign planet, looking up at a strange sky. A memory of when he first arrived on Earth.
Narration (Evan’s voice):
“We adapt. We learn. But sometimes, I think I’ve lost too much to even remember who I was.”
Page 8 - Panel 1:
The camera pans back to Captain Hawke, who seems to be digesting the information. He’s not convinced yet, but there’s something in Evan’s words that strikes a chord.
Captain Hawke (leaning back):
“This is all a lot to process. But here’s what we need to know: how many of you are there? And why are you here?”
Page 9 - Panel 1:
Evan remains quiet for a moment. His mind races, trying to hold on to the last bit of normalcy before everything slips away completely. His eyes shift down.
Evan (hesitantly):
“As far as I know, there are only two of us here... me... and her. The woman you saw earlier... her name’s Lena Aepron. That’s not her real name either, but that’s what she goes by on Earth.”
Page 9 - Panel 2:
Evan looks up, finally breaking the silence. His voice is a mix of sorrow and bitterness.
Evan (softly):
“My planet was destroyed... Aethon is gone. We were forced to leave. There’s nothing left. That’s why I’m here.”
Page 10 - Panel 1:
The agents process the information, their expressions filled with disbelief. One of them steps forward, almost imperceptibly shifting closer to Evan.
Captain Hawke (pressing further):
“Then what happened to your planet? Was it a natural disaster? Was it part of some larger invasion?”
Evan (shaking his head, voice strained):
“I’ve been told it was a natural disaster. But I don’t believe that. Not entirely. The destruction... it felt intentional. I think someone—or something—was behind it. And if they’re behind that... I think they’re behind this, too.”
Page 10 - Panel 2:
The tension in the room rises as the agents exchange serious glances. Evan leans back in his chair, his exhaustion evident, but his mind is racing with the implications of his words.
Captain Hawke (nodding slowly):
“We’ll need to prepare for that possibility. But for now, Evan, we need you to help us. We need you to give us more answers about the creature, and what else is out there. Because next time, we won’t have the luxury of figuring it out on our own.”
Page 10 - Panel 3:
Cut to Thomas and Margaret Holt, still outside, pacing nervously. Their worst fears are only growing with every passing second.
Page 11 - Panel 1:
The camera focuses back on Evan. He’s drained, but the gears in his mind are turning faster than ever. His life is unraveling, and he’s not sure where it’s going, but one thing is clear: things will never be the same.
Narration (Evan’s voice):
“I’m not human. And the world I’ve been living in? That’s about to fall apart, too.”
